Boom, Power.

I do not know about you but I have been feeling an overwhelming amount of Energy coming from the earth. The weather, the tsunami, people, the Super moon. I feel a deep urgency to dive deeper into myself than ever before and find out exactly where my place on this great Earth is. Nature is a true healing tool for me and its so powerful that it makes the ground shake and the sky flash with light. The moon shining through the trees lights my way through the night and brings dreams that take me out of this world. The crash of the ocean waves that inspire me and remind me that everything is okay. The depth of those seas that peel back layers of myself that I feel Blessed to know. The calm of the emerald green lake that takes me back to summer and love and assists me through a seated meditation even on the hardest of days. The sun that warms my soul and brings so much happiness to everyone. The animals around reminding you that you are not alone, they keep you on your toes and Alert and Alive and let you know you are being watched over always. The swiftness of the wind that blows the trees around my house-so unsettled and free to Be. Water falls from the sky cleansing the old, unwanted energy. Nature has the power to transform and awaken us.

"Climb the Mountains and get their good tidings. Nature's peace will flow into you as Sunshine flows into trees. The winds will blow their freshness into you, and the storms their Energy, while cares will drop off you likee falling leaves." -John Muir

Dear Haute Couture... aka. Dior.

Brilliance.

Creativity.

Implementation.

Impeccable.

Sensual.

Free.

Dior.

I can not get enough of John Galliano for Dior. The couture collections are unlike any other on the runway. They bloom, blow up, and splash the world with not only color but shape and silhouettes youve never seen. Its puuuure brilliance. His inspiration for the latest collection was the Costume Institute at the Metropolitan Museum...it shows.

The creations were not the only thing popping off the runway...the models with their matte faces and red lips... & the oversized 3000 roses as a backdrop were also stunning.

Birds of a Feather....

I was working up at Harmony Festival in Petaluma this weekend which was so amazing, fun, free, and all those things I love. The music was bumpin, health was flowin, people were floating. I couldn't have asked for a better work weekend. Oh did I mention the Shopping, too much.

I noticed a few trends when I was out and about of course oooing and awwing at all of the marvelous festival finds and just getting pure inspiration from artists and people. One of my favorite trends that is HUGE right now is feathers. Feather earrings, feather clips, feather hair sticks, feather necklaces, everything. Beautiful, light, floating feathers. It seemed to go with the whole theme of the weekend.

My sister bought me a beautiful pair of feather earrings for my birthday in April when they were beginning to emerge and after that one pair, im hooked. I love the colorful ones, the long ones, the short ones. I even bought a sweet hair stick this weekend with beautiful feathers flowing off the end. I also got a really cool clip with feathers hanging from it-super beautiful stuff all handcrafted by artists and the girls just LOVE it. Everyone I ran into was sporting some lovely feathers all so unique and different.

Birds of a feather do flock together.

I am loving this pair, one big beautiful side, and just a small feather on the other-perfect. Plus I love the addition of jewels to the feathers to balance it out.

I bought a pair like this at the festival! Love the orange teal and brown, you can wear them with anything for an extra pop.

Trend Report June-2010.

Not so sure I agree with what I have been seeing as I peep the fashion scene. I think this is why I am so set on my cool idea for the website I have been manifesting. To bring my own Trend Report straight from the streets. With all of these festivals coming up I am sure to find some amazing little fashionistas roaming. Anyways, update on the fashion scene 2010 brought to you by yours truly.

Crochet...clothing and accessories. When people think of crochet they think of grandma knitting you a scarf or beanie, I personally like it and i Love my grandma and her vintage.Plus I think it can be the perfect mix of hippie chic if done RIGHT.
I am really feeling this dress made by Chanel, it is the perfect blend of silk and cotton, perfect for exiting spring and oh by the way, welcome summer you've been missed.

Sorry D&G I am a big fan of your advertising, but this bag is all wrong-I can see a mess WAITING to happen.

Now here is a cute crochet bag by Marni-ill take one in teal please!

Hawaiian Prints-again this can go really bad if you don't do it right. I love flower prints and this shits been appearing in store fronts since April so either you're on the bus or completely off with this one, I think ill jump on, experiment and possibly get off after people start getting dizzy.

Casadei designed this satin clutch which I am on the fence about. I do like it...although I can see it looking more cheap than chic.

Now this I love. French Connection does it right, again. I love the big bow on the front, the pockets, the orange popping and you could wear this with a variety of colors and high wasted, yes please. well done.

Guess has a tenancy to be cute once in awhile... this falls under one of the moments. I like the flowers and I am sure someone would look just beautiful in this suit.

Ill end this one with an allll wrong. I dislike in every sense of the word, this is why people hate Hawaiian prints alriiight. two words-tommy bahama.

dresses dresses dresses

There are so many different events and appropriate times to wear the Perfect Dress.

I am patiently waiting for the perfect evening where I can slip on the perfect dress and hit the ground running, no no...
Sprinting. Also patiently waiting for some warm summer weather, we get the occasional spring time warm nights here in NorCal but come on, a few more...please?

I put together a few looks (within the budget) I am hoping to introduce into my beautiful life and some sweet events I have planned for the near future!

-meeting the family
This could be a very crucial outfit that I must admit I have been planning...scary. The key is to keep it classy but cute in this particular case. I mean you could potentially be meeting your future family. You do not want to look like you spent hours on getting ready but at the same time...like you spent hours getting ready.

I like this dress for the occasion for a number of reasons-you cant go wrong with black-the embroidery adds a hint of cute- the cap sleeves offer an elegance- and the cinched waist in this case is a must. go against my tendency to choose only flow dresses!

-Sunset Cruise
I found out about this amazing little sunset cruise while I was out exploring my new county (marin) and I stumbled upon a little town called Tiburon. SO cute. I just happened to be wearing a decent outfit for the occasion too! Anyways, this sunset cruise starts around 6 and goes to about 8 you bring wine, snacks, whatever you want take a boat out on the bay and watch the sunset-how many of my favorite things can we get in one place!? aka-perfect date.

I am obsessed with the colors in the sunset-so I chose this strapless, hippy chic number. I love that the belt throws in the relaxed feel and the white crochet keeps it feeling light. Pair it with some brown sandles (that will end up on the boat floor) and you have yourself a pretty little date dress!

-Date Night at the Academy of Science
The Academy of Science is something that I LOVE to go to. On Thursday night they have an amazing 21 and over event from 6-10 where they serve drinks and it is just fun. The Academy itself is just amazing and fun! I need the perfect dress for this, and of course dinner before...at a beautiful restaurant I am sure. This is the kind of event that is still super casual-and I could wear jeans-but everyone appreciates a lady in a pretty dress.

I am thinking I would pair this with a cute pair of flats and an over the shoulder bag to keep it cas. I like the blocked out green yellow and teal on a almost hemp colored fabric. Its classy enough for dinner at a nice place but still chill enough for the science museum!

-Sundays in the GG Park The sun is out, your favorite people are surrounding you (well most) and you are in a perfect state of mind. what do you wear.........

This dress is perfect for the park-throw a frisbee eat some berries and cheese and lay out on a blanket with your hubby. Show some skin and live in a dream world for a day! Also good for a concert in the park, walking around the rose garden, or whatever the day may bring you!

-Summer Wedding
this is huge, you get invited to a wedding by your new beau for one of his best friends...people you have never met... and need to make a GREAT impression. Almost as big as meeting the parents. yikes.
Rule number 1-do not wear WHITE.
Rule number 2-catch the bouquet.
Rule number 3- just smile, and do not drink too much champagne.

How do I love thee...let me count the ways. It looks like one of your paintings, it has straps, it has the perfect bust, and makes you look like a cupcake (in a good way!!) pair it with a wedge sandel or flats, a clutch and your ready to rock the dance floor with your man and enjoy a beautiful ceremony!

Rebranding-Bare Minerals

K so I recently came across Bare Minerals while we were doing a trunk show at the studio. The woman who actually started the company lives here in SF and gave us samples to give away at the show. I remember using bare minerals in highschool, but did not really like it back then for whatever reason so I decided to give it another try. I loved it by the way. So now I am an observer, duh. As I was looking at the packaging I noticed a different font on the top of the lid-wait...the whole logo is different. its now bareMinerals, in a font that looks similar to this! I like. I am also being observant about the bag that she gave us the samples in...super cute-pink, brown, young looking with cute little sayings all over it and the theme being RETHINK. Rethink why a Big Package is Great. (because the makeup comes in small little tubs) get it? cute right. So then all over it there are other sayings such as rethink the use of a little protection(spf) rethink the idea of shrinking assets, rethink your foundation, rethink the idea of pleasing yourself in public, rethink going bare in public... things like this-so I just wanted to share my thoughts on the New and Improved bareMinerals branding I dig.
